She was born into a Telugu-speaking family, with her father being Nidudavolu Rameshwara Rao and her mother being famous actress Joga Bai. She has a biological sister named Subhashini.

Personal life
Jayasudha’s personal life has many important relationships. Jayasudha first married Kakarlapudi Rajendra Prasad, brother-in-law of film producer Vadde Ramesh.
However, the marriage ended in divorce. She then married Nitin Kapoor, cousin of actor Jeetendra, in 1985.
Together, they have two children named Nihar and Shreayan. Unfortunately, Nitin Kapoor passed away in 2017.
