Jason began his television career as Bert Bradshaw in Crossroads in 1964. Three years later, he co-starred with Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Denise Coffey and Michael Palin in the children’s comedy series Don’t Adjust Your Settings, playing a variety of roles, including a parody of the superhero Captain Marvel.

Humphrey Buckley was impressed by Jason’s sense of rhythm and asked him to star in Don’t Adjust Your Settings. This decision was made to balance the more cerebral style of Idle, Jones and Palin.
