David Muir was an anchor and reporter for WTVH-TV in Syracuse, New York, from 1994 to 2000. Following the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995, Muir’s reporting from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Israel, and the Gaza Strip earned him the highest award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

He has received Associated Press awards for Best Enterprise Reporting and Best Television Interview. The Syracuse Press Club named Muir its “Best Local News” anchor, and he was named one of Syracuse’s “Best Local News Anchors.” He worked as an anchor and reporter for WCVB in Boston from 2000 to 2003, when he won the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting as well as the national Keynote Anchor Award.
