Born as Shokoya Oluwasegunfunmi but became a household name along with Davolee, is a 29-year-old Nigerian creative rapper, singer and songwriter.
Davolee is a native of Ogun State, Nigeria, but was born and raised in Isoro, Lagos State, Nigeria. Born on May 18, 1995, Davolee became famous for an improvised song called “Festival Bar”.
Music career
Davolee tried his hobby at a very young age and due to not being able to finance his education, he gave up his studies to focus on music.
Before his name Davolee was upgraded, he used to sell purified water, specifically Mushin, on the streets of Lagos.
While he was always seen freestyling and uploading music to his Instagram as he peddled pure music, his real breakthrough came when he sang his version of the Desiigner hit “Panda.”
Life began to change for this talented artist, and every aspect of his career improved.
Davolee then performed a popular freestyle “Festival Bar” which quickly went viral and his efforts did not go unnoticed as Olamide immediately called him and officially announced the signing to YBNL on November 12, 2016 through his Instagram page.
Davolee sang lead vocals on a few hit singles of Olamide, “Pepper Dem Gang”, which attracted attention and airplay and has since carved a place in the hearts of music lovers.
He continued to release singles such as Python under YBNL.
Davolee and YBNL split
On April 27, 2019, it was reported that Davolee had left YBNL and moved on with his own life due to a bad relationship between him and his record label YBNL boss Olamide.
According to his Instagram post, there were rumors of a feud between the two performers.
He was then seen showing off the new record label he was signed to, “New Nation Muzik,” announcing that he was about to move on to the next phase of his career.
The general trend at that time was that he did not like the way YBNL was being managed and that was the reason for his leaving.

The talented music artist Davolee signed to New Nation Muzik and released the single “Way” which received critical acclaim and received great praise from music lovers.
Since then, he has released several projects, such as the single “Lock Up” featuring Zlatan Ibile.
