early life
DD Junior Alpha was born on October 10, 1997 to Mr. and Mrs. Elumba. He was born in Cameroon and grew up in the Southwest. His parents named him Divine Etama Elumba. Named after his father.
He was born into a Christian family and grew up in the same faith. As a result, he started attending church regularly from an early age, which helped to develop his love for God. His family is traditionally known for being evangelists, serving as pastors, choir leaders, and elders in the church.
DD Junior Alpha was the first child of a family of five. Before his birth, the Elumbas had already had a son, but the son died a few years later. Divine was conceived some time after his brother’s death. Therefore, he was considered an answer to his parents’ prayers.
Growing up, Junior noticed that the elders in his family loved gospel music, but they didn’t play any instruments, and most of the instrumentalists who were invited to perform at church events often charged exorbitant fees for their services.
To solve this problem, Junior developed an interest in learning to play different instruments, and soon he became a very good instrumentalist. In addition to preaching in the local church, DD Junior Alpha was often invited to perform at local weddings, birthday parties, sermons and other events. As a result, he became a celebrity in the entertainment industry in Southwest Cameroon.

Although DD Junior Alpha was a successful professional instrumentalist, he never thought of pursuing a singing career, despite being gifted with a beautiful voice. He was a very shy person growing up, which made him hesitant to sing.

He is the creator of several hit gospel songs such as “Nwenyoh”, “Holy”, “Nginya”, “Lead Me Through”, “Njomi (Thank You), Dependable God”, “Favour”, “IF”, “Eringo (Love)” and “Elohim”.
The singer is loved by many Africans who love gospel songs. As a result, he has been invited many times to minister (perform) at Christian events across the continent.
DD Junior Alpha has also built a huge fan base outside the African continent. This was achieved by utilizing his social media channels.
