Kelly Rowland has warned her fans about a fake account on social media.
On January 4, Rowland posted to her Instagram Stories, which attracted the attention of a scam Instagram account impersonating her. According to the “Say My Name” singer, the account is named “iam.kellyrowland” and has no followers or posts.
The user behind the account is introduced as Rowland, before informing the recipient that they have lost their credit card and now need money urgently to buy plane tickets. The ticket is also needed so that “Rowland” can perform in the recipient’s city.
“Hey, this is Kelly from Destiny’s Child, I lost my credit card and I need money to buy a regular ticket so I can fly to your city to perform,” the fake account said before asking: “Can you send Can you give me some money?” ?”
The message added a strange follow-up: “Hello, this is Beyoncé.”
