Born at Amana Hospital in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania on October 2, 1989, Diamond Platnumz, considered one of Africa’s leading and most influential Artists, grew up at his grandmother’s house in the west Tandale.
His real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma.
Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, also known as Chibu Dangote, grew up as his mother’s only child.
Since his father was not in the picture, his mother and grandmother were forced to rent out part of the room in their house to cover their daily needs and pay the bills.

Diamond Platnumz started his educational career by studying at Chakula Bora Preschool in 1995, after which he went to Tandale Magharibi in 1996, where he graduated in 2002.
Interestingly, Diamond Platnumz started showing interest in music while still in 5th grade.
He started singing and imitating local and international artists whenever he had the chance.

Diamond Platnumz is one of the most famous artists in East and Central Africa. He is one of the highest earners in the music industry of the African Great Lakes region.
On January 23, 2019, Diamond Platnumz was officially introduced as the Pepsi Brand Ambassador in East Africa. On September 13, 2019, he became the Brand Ambassador of Parimatch Africa.
Furthermore, on September 25, 2019, Diamond Platnumz was named Nice One Brand Ambassador. On March 4, 2020, he was announced as the new Brand Ambassador of Coral Paints (Tanzania).
In 2021, Diamond Platnumz and his record label WCB Wasafi signed a 360 Partnership with Warner Music Group.

Diamond Platnumz is Muslim. With his former partner, Ugandan-South African businesswoman Zari Hassan, he has two children. He became a father for the third time with Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobeto.
As of 2019, Diamond Platnumz is dating Kenyan model and musician Tanasha Donna, with whom he has a son, born in October 2019. The two have separated and Tanasha Donna flew back to her homeland Hers, Kenya.
Diamond Platnumz is the cousin of Tanzanian socialite and DJ, Romeo Abdul Jones, known professionally as Romy Jones. He also has two sisters, musician Queen Darleen and social entrepreneur, Esma Platnumz.
In 2010, he supported Tanzania’s dominant ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), and its presidential candidate, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. Additionally, he released other songs with lyrics supporting CCM, such as “CCM Tusonge Mbele” (“CCM Let’s Move Forward”).
