Diddy’s former bodyguard says the rapper sacrificed a live bird

Diddy’s former bodyguard claims the famous rap icon sacrificed a live bird before his 2001 acquittal on gun possession and bribery charges in the 1999 New York shooting that involved Diddy and Belizean rapper Shyne, among others, and ended up injuring three bystanders.

Add the strange story to the growing list of reports and revelations about Diddy, the famous hip-hop rapper, producer and record executive aka Sean Combs. Diddy was arrested and indicted in September on charges of sex trafficking, fraud, etc. and is awaiting trial in May 2025 from a jail cell in Brooklyn.

Now, the story of the dead bird comes from a new Hulu documentary about Shyne, called Honorable Shyneand it details the mysterious ritual allegedly performed by Sean “Diddy” Combs before the court verdict in the shooting, as TMZ reported on Monday (November 18).

According to former bodyguard Gene Deal, Diddy made an unplanned stop in Central Park on his way to court in 2001, where he encountered a man holding what appeared to be a Bible. Deal claims the man conducted a ritual involving prayers, sage and a white bird in a cage.

His account continued that Diddy then knelt before the man as smoke rose around him, apparently coming from some burning sage. The man then prayed, placed his hands on Diddy, and instructed the rapper to retrieve a white bird from a cage. Diddy then “threw the bird into the air and it hit the ground like a brick,” according to TMZ.

Understandably, the strange sequence, as described by Deal, sparked conspiracies and speculation as it appeared throughout the documentary.
