Early Life & Education
DJ Roja, a famous DJ, was born on September 29, 1989 in the vibrant city of Kampala, Uganda. Coming from a family with the honorary title of Hajji, he was lovingly raised by his parents Nsubuga Ganga and Agnes Nankabirwa.
Throughout his childhood journey, DJ Roja was accompanied by his sister, Christine Nampeera. A nomadic lifestyle marked their upbringing as they lived in various neighborhoods within Kampala, such as Ntinda, Kireka, Kiwatule and Kamokya.

DJ Roja has a diverse educational background, having attended many schools, e.g City High School And Kanjuki High School. After finishing high school, he enrolled Kyambogo UniversityMbale Branch, pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering specializing in refrigeration and air conditioning.
Career
DJ Roja’s career took an unexpected turn when he gave up on his dreams of becoming an engineer, realizing they were incompatible with his career ambitions during an internship at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
His journey as a DJ began when he crossed paths with DJ Pollo, becoming DJ Pollo’s apprentice and often carrying around heavy audio equipment.
DJ Mercy then paved the way for DJ Roja to secure a gig at the bar, a stepping stone that led him to the respected Beats for Life at Bugolobi. Before that, Roja started his DJ career under DJ Crim at Green Heva before finding your way there Waiting room.
Waiting room marks a turning point in the career of DJ Roja, initially an emerging DJ under the guidance of the late DJ Momo. Here, he met MC Kats, who introduced him to Ibrah Kadanke, opening the door to becoming a DJ at various school events.
DJ Roja’s journey took a significant turn when he stumbled upon Slick Stuart in late 2012, a renowned DJ celebrated for his expansive mixes.

In 2014, after discovering their shared musical interests, DJ Roja and Slick Stuart considered collaborating. Initially, they adopted a unique format, alternating between five-song sets.
An inspirational moment happened at Badi studio where they listened to A Pass’ Mumpulila. Interestingly, they refrained from producing a music video for this song and A Pass Bagonza still retains full ownership of the copyright.

Personal life
34-year-old DJ Roja and his girlfriend, Daniella, have been in an on-and-off relationship for a considerable amount of time. However, despite their strong relationship, they were not lucky enough to have children.
In 2019, a heartbreaking incident occurred when DJ Roja allegedly attacked Daniella and went on the run. It was rumored that his colleagues at work helped him evade authorities as police searched for him in every possible location.
