In 2011, Ed Service, originally from the Hutt Valley near Wellington, New Zealand, decided to move to Melbourne, Australia to immerse himself in the vibrant dance music scene.

One night, he met local musician Jack Martin, who had a background in folk and rock music, at a Melbourne nightclub.

The two musicians soon realized that they shared a common passion for music and decided to join forces to form an underground electronic music group calling themselves Shouse.

Shouse’s career began in 2015 when they got together to record in a warehouse in Brunswick. It was during this session that they recorded what would become their breakthrough single “Love Tonight”

The duo recruited a group of amateur singers and some of Melbourne’s underground music stars to create a chorus-like effect for the song.

Inspired by Victor Turner’s concept of “community,” Shouse wanted to create a participatory music experience that would bring people together.

In the release of “There is love tonight,” Shouse gained some attention, but it wasn’t until 2021 that the song really took off.

German electronic music producer Oliver Huntemann and Brazilian DJ and producer Vintage Culture released a remix of the song, which attracted attention on TikTok.

French DJ and record producer David Guetta subsequently remixed it, sending the song to the charts in various European countries and launching Shouse on their first tour.

In February 2022, Shouse released “I will never forget you” It’s a deeply moving song, recorded between the European tour and the live performance at the Sydney Opera House on New Year’s Eve 2021.
