Drake criticized for bullying DeMar DeRozan at Raptors game instead of attending Lil Wayne’s historic performance

Drake couldn’t escape controversy this year.

The rapper is currently under fire for comments he made regarding DeMar DeRozan of the Sacramento Kings, who is a former Toronto Raptor.

The Kings play the Raptors, a team Drake partially owns, and he appeared to call DeRozan “p–y” when the two teams faced off, New York Post Office report.

It’s Vince Carter’s retirement night and with DeRozan’s impactful history with the franchise, his day may come too. But in a television interview, Drake said he would intervene if that happened.

“If you put up the DeRozan banner, I will go up there and pull it down myself… shout out to Kyle [Lowry]Drake said.

The bad blood between the two stems from DeRozan siding with Kendrick Lamar in the ongoing feud he has with Drake. While Drake and DeRozan were friendly when he played for the Raptors, DeRozan is from Compton, California.

DeRozan was rapped on Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which outperformed any Drake diss on the charts in the past year.

“I’m glad DeRoz is home, you guys don’t deserve him either,” he raps.

DeRozan also went on to star in the music video for “Not Like Us” as well as attend Lamar’s 16th concert “The Pop Out”.

DeRozan was asked about his comments after the game and drew a laugh when he noted: “He’s going to go a long way to knock it down.”

Now, Drake is being criticized by people online for his comments.

“Adonis needs to sit down. He took Chubbs to ‘scare’ DeMar DeRozan instead of his son who loves basketball and should see Vince Carter’s name forever echoing in the rafters? Kendrick is right that Drake has great impact on fatherhood,” one person commented.

“#LameDrake,” said another.

Notably, Drake missed friend and mentor Lil Wayne’s Lil WeezyAna festival in New Orleans to be at the basketball game to dunk.

Wayne’s performance included songs such as “Get Your Roll On”, “I Need a Hot Girl” and “Neighborhood Superstar” and saw him team up again with the Hot Boys.

Hot Boys’ last album was 2003′ Let them burn.
