Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995, in London, England. Her father is Dukagjin Lipa, an Albanian rock singer and current marketing executive, and her mother is Anesa Lipa.
She has an older sister, Lina Lipa, and a younger brother, Jigin Lipa. Her parents are ethnic Albanians from Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, who immigrated to Europe in the 1990s to escape violence and oppression.
Although she was not forced by her father to become a singer, she was still influenced by him. Unpleasant experiences in high school led her to attend the famous Sylvia Young Drama School in her spare time, where teachers made her study with senior students to build her confidence.
