Ederzito António Macedo Lopes, commonly known as Eder, was born on December 22, 1987 in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, and is a former Portuguese football player.
He was raised by his parents, his father’s name is Philomeno Antonio Lopez and his mother’s name is unknown. Ed has a sister named Dasia Falleni Lopez.

Edel started playing football at the age of 11 in the Associação Desportiva e Cultural da Adémia in the Coimbra district. He made his debut with Oliveira do Hospital and GD Tourizense (the latter in the third division and with the Coimbra Academy farm team).
On August 24, 2008, Edel made his first appearance for Académica in a 0–1 away defeat to Amadora Estrela. At the end of the season, he scored the club’s first goal, an equalizer in a 3–1 win over Associação Naval 1° de Maio.
In 2012, Ed signed a four-year contract with Braga. He made his debut for the team on 2 September in a 2–0 loss to Pacos de Ferreira, but later that month Braga defeated Rio Ave at home 4–1. Scored twice in the game. Eder also scored in a 4-4 home draw with SC Olhanense.
In the 2015 Domestic Cup final, Eder opened the scoring against Sporting Lisbon, but missed the penalty kick in the penalty shootout and ultimately lost in a 2-2 draw.
On June 28, 2015, Edel signed a three-year contract with Premier League club Swansea City. He made his debut on August 8, playing the final 11 minutes of a 2-2 draw with defending champions Chelsea.
In 2017, Edel joined the Russian Super League team Lokomotiv Moscow on loan for one season. He scored the winning goal in the 87th minute to help the team beat Zenit St. Petersburg 1-0 and help Lokomotiv win its first league title since 2004.
On October 21, 2020, Eder scored his first Champions League goal in a 2-2 away draw with Red Bull Salzburg. He won the trophy again at the end of the 2020-21 season.
In September 2021, Edel signed with Al Raed FC of the Saudi Professional League. He left the club a year later and did not find a new club by November 2023, instead taking an administrative position in the Portuguese Football Federation.
Eder chose to represent Portugal in international competitions and made his first appearance for the national team during the 2012 2014 World Cup qualifiers. He was not selected for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
