Nikki Glaser didn’t hold back about the pranks she pulled on Jan. 5 when she hosted the 2025 Golden Globes.
However, not all of the pranks she planned made it to air. In an interview with SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern ShowGlaser shared which pranks didn’t land and they were aimed at everyone from Nicole Kidman to Jennifer Lopez and more.
“Female Wild robots nominated tonight. And I mean Nicole Kidman after two glasses of white wine,” Glaser told host Howard Stern.
“If she frowns then… [but] I think she would be very happy with that,” she added.
A jab at Lopez and her on-off relationship with actor Ben Affleck also ended in a cut.
“I kind of said, ‘Am I going to roast or am I going to toast? You know what? I’m not roasting. I’m going to toast the bread.’ And I just toasted the roasts like, ‘To Ben Affleck, I can’t wait to see which Jennifer you try to ruin next,'” she joked.
“And I reasoned like, ‘Oh, I’m not saying destroy them. I said he was trying to ruin them so it wouldn’t be held against them.’ But I thought, ‘That’s crazy,'” Glaser elaborated.
Timothée Chalamet was nominated for his role as Bob Dylan in the movie A Completed Unknown and her unpublished joke was more offensive than the one that aired.
“To sound like Bob Dylan, Timothée Chalamet took years of vocal lessons because apparently that’s the amount of time it takes to learn how to smoke 40,000 cigarettes. Timothée learned guitar, dialect and vocal movements to become Bob Dylan, while Bob Dylan became Bob Dylan the old-fashioned way – heroin and autism, but now, there are a lot of songs about trains,” she shares.
The comedian ended up joking about Chalamet and his mustache during his opening monologue.
“You have the most beautiful lashes on your upper lip,” she told the actor.
Glaser kept an eye out There was only murder in the building crew, minus Selena Gomez in a limited joke when she mentioned Jake Paul and his fight against Mike Tyson.
“There was only murder in the building That’s so great. And I think it’s amazing that legends like Steve Martin, Martin Short, Meryl Streep, we keep pushing, putting on some of the best performances of their careers and it’s so inspiring. And it just goes to show you, you’re never too old to still need money. Guys, please don’t fight Jake Paul, please don’t do that. Why do you still work so hard? Are you caught up in Hawk Tuah girl’s crypto scheme?” she would joke on air.
However, Gomez was not without criticism and her relationship with producer Benny Blanco was made fun of.
“She’s here tonight with her new fiance Benny Blanco. And Benny Blanco is here because the genie granted him that wish. Lucky guy,” Glaser said during the live show.
Glaser also has a say when it comes to movies sinister And gay.
“Daniel Craig was nominated for his role in gayit’s a movie and not just what my uncle Chuckie calls it sinister”, she shared with Stern.
sinister Of course, you can’t avoid being hurt by the jokes that are broadcast.
“I didn’t know much about ‘Wicked’ because I had friends in high school but I loved it. I really loved it. My boyfriend loved it, my boyfriend’s boyfriend really loved ‘Wicked’. It was so fun when watching a musical in the theater,” she said.
But perhaps the most brutal joke was about the Diddy movie going around Hollywood.
“The Golden Globes is the only show where you can see the biggest stars, from film and television, come together with one goal in mind — to get out of here tonight before Dax Shepard,” she began. ask them to do his podcast.”
“This is the last time you all will be in the same room until Diddy’s trial,” she added.
Glaser’s opening monologue was well received online and many people took the time to praise her jokes.
