Ezra Olubi was born on November 12, 1986 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Growing up in southwestern Nigeria, the Yoruba-speaking prodigy displayed remarkable intelligence and was well-known in his neighborhood.
He has become one of the leading entrepreneurs in the IT sector along with his close friend, Shola Akinlade.
Education
After completing his secondary education, Ezra Olubi was admitted to Babcock University to study Computer Science and graduated in 2006 with a degree in this subject.
He was also an award-winning computer programmer while in college.
Career
Ezra Olubi worked as an IT Administrator at Business Management Consultant Limited after graduating from Babcock University. Soon after, North Ocean Logistic and Solutions Limited contacted him and appointed him as a Web Application Developer in their company.
He was also the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Jobberman and Delivery Science before being appointed Director of Magic at Alexander Haring Limited.
Ezra Olubi teamed up with Shola Akinlade to found PayStack, an online payment platform in 2015. However, his big break came when World Stripe, a reputable online payment system, approached the duo to acquire PayStack in October 2020.
The deal saw Ezra Olubi and Shola Akinlade invest a total of $200,000,000 in their platform and catapulted them to prominence in the IT space.
