Early life
Lorna Maseko was born on 3 July 1983. She was born and raised in Alexander Township in Gauteng, South Africa.
She inherited her excellent cooking skills from her mother, who always made sure she was present in the kitchen when cooking.
She attended local dance classes near her family’s residence and acquired the basic skills for her career as a ballerina.

Lorna Maseko began and completed her primary and secondary education in Alexander, South Africa.
Career
Lorna Maseko began her career as a dancer for the Afrikan Ballet Theatre before joining the South African Ballet Theatre Company. She became South Africa’s first black ballerina. She left the dance industry after gaining national fame.
In 2007, she landed a job in the television industry as a presenter on the South African Broadcasting Corporation. She was also a producer on Afro Showbiz News for SABC Africa. During her presenter days, she was a Top Billing Presenter Search.
She made it to the top 10 finalists. Her performance landed her a contract to film the 2010 World Cup. She performed so well that she eventually got a contract on the show and became a host for the Top Billing show.
She founded Event and Lifestyle Management to help clients organize events and stay in shape through exercise.
Lorna Maseko has also appeared as a judge on the popular South African reality TV show, So You Think You Can Dance. She is also the host of the South African cooking competition series, Top Chef South Africa. She eventually started her own cooking and lifestyle reality TV show called The Hostess with Lorna Maseko.
Personal life
Lorna Maseko is currently single after ending her six-year marriage to Gcina “GC” Lukhele.
She stated in an interview with Sowetan Live that she was ready to move on but dodged questions about the reasons for the divorce. She has no children.
