Gene Raymond Chrisley Cause of Death: How Did He Die?
Gene Raymond Chrisley died of cancer in Atlanta, Georgia on July 11, 2012 — two years before Chrisley Knows Best premiered on USA Network.
If you’ve watched the show, Gene is often referred to with great respect by his family. For example—in the first season—Faye sets up a dating profile for herself, and after swiping through a number of eligible bachelors, Faye says to Kyle, “None of them look like Poppa, do they?” Kyle replies, “Poppa looks better than all of them.”
Gene’s death affected the entire family. Every now and then, we’d stumble across a post or two of remembrance from members. “Miss you bubba,” Chase wrote on IG in February 2020. Likewise, his sister Savannah posted on her IG in October, admitting that while she was excited about launching her clothing line, the moment still felt bittersweet without him.
Savannah said that her grandfather was also her best friend.
Although Gene is long gone, he lives on in the memories of his loved ones. Savannah shared, “I thank God for the 15 years he gave me with him because they were the BEST 15 years. We miss him, I wish he could be here.” Additionally, on Gene’s transcendent 8th anniversary, Savannah wrote another emotional post: “I will never forget the smell of him… his laugh… his hugs… and all the times we sang together in the car! I miss him more than anything in the world… I wish I could have had a few more years with him.”

Gene Raymond Chrisley was born on May 9, 1935. This made him 77 years old when he passed away in 2012.
His funeral was held at 11 a.m. on July 14, 2012, at Sandifer Funeral Home. Burial followed at Heritage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with full military honors.
According to his date of birth, Gene belongs to the zodiac sign of Taurus.
Gene Raymond Chrisley Net Worth
The Chrisleys are quite wealthy. They reportedly spend up to $300,000 a year on clothes and live in a 30,000 square foot mansion. Plus, fans are no strangers to photos of them next to expensive cars.

Gene Chrisley Raymond and Faye married in the 60s. Despite a nine-year age gap, they remained soul mates. Even years after Gene’s death, Faye still loved him and admitted that she would never find anyone else like him.
But Faye tried her best to rekindle her love life. And this was not accepted by her son. Todd shared, “I’m sure the guy there with my mom was a very nice gentleman. But he was not my dad. My mom had never dated anyone in her entire life other than my dad.”
In addition to Todd, Gene and Faye had two more children — one who died in infancy and the other, Randy Chrisley.

Gene Raymond Chrisley was the son of Leonard A. and Allie Mae Childers Chrisley.
His father, Leonard was born on May 19, 1903 and left this world on May 20, 1977 at the age of 74. His mother, Allie was born on March 6, 1903 and passed away on March 3, 1980 at the age of 76.
Speaking of his siblings, Gene had three brothers and four sisters. His three brothers and two sisters joined him in heaven. Referring to them:
