Goo Goo Dolls singer John Rzeznik is hospitalized, forcing the tour to be postponed

Goo Goo Dolls singer John Rzeznik is recovering from a health scare.

Rzeznik took to the band’s official Instagram account to announce that he had been hospitalized to battle pneumonia. Because of this, they were forced to cancel their upcoming shows in South Africa.

Goo Goo Dolls were due to perform in Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria this week, the shows have now been pushed back to the end of March 2025.

“We are heartbroken to have to postpone our shows in South Africa. This country means a lot to us and we are so excited to create more memories with you. Sadly, My doctor has advised rest and recovery. Thank you for your understanding – we’ll be worth the wait when we return in March 2025!” they said in the post’s caption.

Rzeznik also said in the video: “I’m really sorry that I couldn’t be there, but I ended up going to the doctor and I had pneumonia, and they put me in the hospital. Tickets for the original dates will be valid for the rescheduled dates. The band also announced that ticket holders will receive instructions on how to confirm attendance or request early refunds.

Rzeznik is expected to recover for their next performance. The group is scheduled to perform a show on December 14 at the Naples, FL Live Fest 2024.
