A hardcore punk band called “Fentanyl” dropped their tour opening act, a band called “Mexican Coke” after their frontman’s drunken behavior created a negative experience for concertgoers.
The incident allegedly occurred Saturday night at the Salt Lake City stop of Fentanyl’s tour after the Mexican Coke singer “spent the entire show drinking to excess, mistreating with young concert-goers, cursing at the audience and continuing to incite a group of drunks in the audience,” according to a Reddit thread later posted on r/Hardcore.
u/1994HondaAccord posted that the Mexican Coke singer “refused to start performing until he had another beer in his hand” and that after just two songs into the show, concertgoers began threw cans at him. They added that “one of the drunks approached and started swinging him around the stage.”
Another user commented on the post alleging that the singer also used homophobic and racial slurs and threw beer in people’s faces. This user also said that the male singer “broke a microphone device worth 80 USD”.
While these reports have not been confirmed, Kenny Turner, lead singer of Fentanyl, posted on X Sunday announcing that Mexican Coke would no longer be joining them on tour.
