Hera Hilmar, full name Hera Hilmarsdóttir, is the daughter of the famous film director Hilmar Oddsson and the famous actress Thorey Sigthorsdottir.
She was born on December 27, 1988 in the occupied city of Reykjavik, Iceland.

Hera Hilma’s acting career started off with a glittering performance in the film “Silent Storm” in 2007, for which she was nominated for the Edda Award for Best Actress of the Year for her leading role. However, she won the award twice in 2015 for her role as Ike in “Life in a Fish Tank” and again in 2017 for her role as Anna in “The Vow”.
Hera Hilmar was also selected as one of Europe’s Rising Stars at the packed Berlin International Film Festival in 2015 and received “Special Recognition” at the Zurich (Switzerland) Film Festival for her performance in “Life in a Fishbowl”.
