Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s 10 Best Movies And TV Shows

The best Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies and TV shows cover multiple projects from 2008 to the present day, and showcase the career foundations of a young actor who’s poised to have many successful decades ahead of them. Born in London in 1996, British actor and producer Hero Fiennes Tiffin has been comfortable in front of the camera since childhood. Many viewers will have first seen him playing a young Tom Riddle in 2009’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, though the star has become much more active since then.

While his most prominent early role was as the young Lord Voldemort, most viewers didn’t know of Hero Fiennes Tiffin by name until a decade later, when he portrayed Hardin Scott in the adaptations of Anna Todd’s After novels. However, while the After movies (from the 2019 original through to 2023’s After Everything) have been integral for his career, they are far from the best Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies. The actor has many high-quality performances to his name, and fans looking into more of Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s work will quickly see how much wider his range is than playing a romantic lead in a divisive drama franchise.

After centers on a young woman who begins a romantic relationship with a mysterious student quickly after attending a new college. After was released in 2019 and based on Anna Todd’s 2014 romantic drama book of the same name. After launched a franchise, with four sequels coming out in the subsequent years.

There’s a great irony when it comes to the best Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies and TV shows and his wider career – the series he’s most recognized for is also the group of movies that have been the least well received by critics. Hero Fiennes Tiffin plays Hardin Scott in the romantic drama movie series After, starting with the 2019 movie of the same name and continuing with 2020’s After We Collided, 2021’s After We Fell, 2022’s After Ever Happy, and 2023’s After Everything. He also served as a producer on the latter three projects.

The After movies have all been mostly lambasted by critics, although they still have a solid fanbase thanks to how much each film is oozing with soap opera-like tension and romantic twists. The performance of Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Hardin is, however, solid, and the actor does a fantastic job at bringing the steamy and intense romantic chemistry with co-stars necessary to pull off such a genre-specific movie series.

9 Bigga Than Ben (2008)

Hero Fiennes Tiffin Plays Spartak

Bigga Than Ben

2008’s Bigga than Ben was Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s first credited movie role, and the UK indie comedy is certainly worth a watch for fans of the actor who want to experience his complete filmography. Directed, written, and produced by Suzie Halewood, Bigga than Ben is a dark comedy focusing on two Russian tourists who travel to London to make a quick and easy fortune.

Played by Ben Barnes and Andrei Chadoc respectively, Cobakka and Spiker soon run into more trouble than they expected on their London trip in Bigga than Ben, and what follows is a relatively standard comedy of errors (though the film was received relatively well by critics). At only 10 or 11 years old while filming the movie, Bigga than Ben only features a relatively minor appearance from Fiennes Tiffin, but it’s one of several from his period as a child actor that show why he was always tipped to have a successful career ahead of him.

8 Private Peaceful (2012)

Hero Fiennes Tiffin Plays Young Charlie

Private Peaceful

Another UK movie to feature an appearance from a young Hero Fiennes Tiffin is 2012’s Private Peaceful, a WWI drama led by Skins star Jack O’Connell and George MacKay. Based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Michael Morpurgo, Private Peaceful tells the story of Tommo Peaceful (MacKay), who recounts both his childhood and his experiences during the First World War.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin gives an emotional appearance as the young version of Charlie Peaceful (played as an adult by Jack O’Connell). Charlie is Tommo’s older brother, and is executed during the war after disobeying a direct order from his sergeant. As expected, Private Peaceful is an emotional movie, and like Bigga than Ben fully displays the acting skills that gave Hero Fiennes Tiffin a successful career even at such a young age.

7 The Loneliest Boy In The World (2022)

Hero Fiennes Tiffin Plays Mitch

loneliest boy in the world

When it comes to underrated Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies, a key title that stands out is 2022’s The Loneliest Boy In The World. Directed by Martin Owen from a screenplay by Piers Ashworth, the UK horror comedy is in many ways the polar opposite of the After movies the actor also starred in during the same period. In terms of plot, The Loneliest Boy In The World is a satire of modern zombie movies, weaving the horrific visuals that come with films featuring the undead with strong, almost fairytale-like, themes of the importance of family.

The movie focuses on Oliver (Max Harwood), a socially isolated young man who finds himself struggling to cope with the death of his mother. He turns to excavating dead bodies, and is surprised to find his newly exhumed “friends” come to life the following day. Hero Fiennes Tiffin co-stars as Mitch, the corpse recovered by Oliver that the troubled boy grows closest to. While it wasn’t the critical success it could have been, The Loneliest Boy In The World now stands as a hidden gem among all the movies Hero Fiennes Tiffin has appeared in.

6 Safe (2018)

Hero Fiennes Tiffin Plays Ioan Fuller

safe 2018

Hero Fiennes Tiffin is primarily known for his feature-film appearances, but he’s also starred in several TV shows alongside his various movies. This was the case in 2018 when he appeared alongside Michael C. Hall and Amanda Abbingdon in Safe (also known as Harlan Coben’s Safe), the British thriller miniseries released via Netflix. Along with some of the actors movies like The Silencing, Safe is the perfect opportunity for fans to experience Hero Fiennes Tiffin in a darker, grittier story that fully explores his range as an actor.

The miniseries focuses on Michael C. Hall as the widower Tom Delaney, whose teenage daughter Jenny goes missing. Tom’s investigation to find her leads to uncovering a hotbed of secrets about his peers and local community. Hero Fiennes Tiffin appears as Iaon Fuller, another local teenager who both knows Jenny and knows more than he lets on about her disappearance, and the character soon proves integral to Tom’s investigations.

ScreenRant logo 5/10 The Silencing R

The Silencing is a thriller film that follows a reformed hunter, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who is drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse when a young girl is abducted. Directed by Robin Pront, the story unravels in a remote wildlife sanctuary and involves the hunter teaming up with a local sheriff, portrayed by Annabelle Wallis, to track down the killer.

Director Robin Pront Release Date July 18, 2020 Cast Nikolaj Coster-Waldau , Annabelle Wallis , Zahn McClarnon , Melanie Scrofano , Hero Fiennes Tiffin Runtime 93 Minutes

The 2020 action-thriller The Silencing was one of Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s first forays into realms outside romantic dramas as an adult actor, and while the movie itself didn’t do amazingly when it came to its critical reception or box office takes, it remains one of the best performances from the young star so far. The premise of the movie is relatively straightforward, as it focuses on a hunter and sheriff closing in on a killer they’ve been tracking ever since the murder of the latter’s daughter.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin plays Brooks, a local young man who is initially positioned as the likely killer. However, as with most thriller movies, there are plenty of twists and turns in the plot, and it becomes apparent that Brooks is simply a scapegoat for the real culprit. Directed by Robin Pront, The Silencing is the perfect choice for Hero Finenns Tiffin fans who want to see him in a darker, more serious role than that of Hardin Scott in the After movies.

2022’s First Love is, like the After series, a film that makes full use of Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s skills and suitability for romance movies. However, unlike the franchise the actor is perhaps most known for, First Love wasn’t completely taken apart by critics (though it still received middling reviews, currently sitting on a 33% score on Rotten Tomatoes). Hero Fiennes Tiffin leads the cast as Jim, the romantic lead alongside Sydney Park’s Ann, and the plot is a relatively straightforward by-the-numbers romantic drama narrative.

However, First Love ranks at the higher end of the best Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies due to the actors’ performance, and the fact that his suitability for romantic dramas is a niche upon which he does appear to be building some solid career foundations. Is it the highest-rated movie he’s appeared in? Certainly not. Still, this doesn’t change the fact that fans of Hero Fiennes Tiffin hoping to see more of him in roles similar to Hardin Scott in the After films will perhaps find First Love the most satisfying further viewing in his filmography.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin may not have had much screentime as the younger Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but his brief appearance makes the film more than suitable when considering his best movies. As an all-round movie, it’s obvious that the 6th Harry Potter film is the most successful and acclaimed project Hero Fiennes Tiffin has been involved in. Few franchises are as widely recognized as Harry Potter, and nothing else starring Fiennes Tiffin even came close to the box-office success of The Half-Blood Prince.

However, that’s not exclusively the reason it ranks so highly among the best Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies. The Harry Potter film franchise didn’t explore much about Voldemort’s life as Tom Riddle, and so the scenes of his life prior to becoming the Dark Lord needed to be memorable. Hero Fiennes Tiffin did a fantastic job at playing the 11-year-old version of the dark wizard, with the young actor being completely believable as a child sociopath who would one day grow to become an unrelenting force of evil.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a World War II film following a top-secret combat unit who were formed by Winston Churchill to hunt down Nazis. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and based on the book The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops by Damien Lewis.

Director Guy Ritchie Release Date April 19, 2024 Cast Henry Cavill , Eiza González , Alan Ritchson , Alex Pettyfer , Hero Fiennes Tiffin , Babs Olusanmokun , Til Schweiger , Henry Golding , Cary Elwes , Henrique Zaga Runtime 120 Minutes

2024’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is one of the most recent Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies, and sees him once again moving from romantic drama to the other cornerstones of his career as an actor – action comedy, with a hint of spy-thriller parodying thrown in too. Directed by legendary UK filmmaker Guy Ritchie – the creative mind behind The Gentlemen, Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, and a host of other British gangster films – The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare sees Hero Fiennes Tiffin playing real UK commando Henry Hayes.

Set in WW2, The Ministry of Ungentlemany Warfare is definitely one of the most unsual Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies so far. In many ways, the film comes across as Inglourious Basterds meets the Kingsman franchise, creating a tongue-in-cheek reimagining of the clandestine activities of Great Britain’s Operation Postmaster team (comprised of members of the UK wartime intelligence/military divisions the SOE and SSRF).

Hayes was one of the younger members of the team, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin does a great job at portraying his youthful mix of eagerness and trepidation to hilarious effect. Operation Postmaster inspired Ian Fleming and served as the basis for the James Bond novels, which should give viewers an idea of the kind of espionage operations that the ragtag team (led by Henry Cavill as Gus March-Phillips) get up to throughout the movie.

*Availability in US Director Gina Prince-Bythewood Release Date September 16, 2022 Cast Thuso Mbedu , Lashana Lynch , John Boyega , Viola Davis Runtime 135 minutes

Of all the Hero Fiennes Tiffin movies, 2022’s The Woman King stands out as the best, both because of the quality of the film overall, and when comparing the actor’s performance in it to his other roles. Directed by Gina Prince-Blythewood, The Woman King received a considerable amount of press when it released, and went on to land multiple awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe nomination for Viola Davis for Best Actress. While some aspects of the movie, such as the historical accuracy, caused some controversy, The Woman King still stands as a unique and highly important period drama.

The role portrayed by Hero Fiennes Tiffin in The Woman King is that of an incredibly loathable antagonist, the slave trader Santo Ferreira. It was an incredibly nuanced part that Fiennes Tiffin did no shortage of justice, capturing the subtleties of the man behind the historical context that was the abhorrence of the slave trade. Hero Fiennes Tiffin has multiple projects currently in development, so time will tell when it comes to the long-term position of The Woman King among his best TV shows and movies, but the actor will have to give yet another career-defining performance to beat the skill he showed when portraying Santo Ferreira.
