Early Life & Education
Hilary Farr, a talented individual of English-Canadian descent, was born to an English mother and Canadian father on August 31, 1951 in Toronto, Ontario. Her mother was an Anglican member of the Church of England, but her father was Jewish. Farr was raised in both Jewish and Christian traditions.

Additionally, she showed off her singing skills in a play Grease in London back in ’73.
In the 80s, Hilary took on small roles in various sitcoms before marrying Gordon Farr in 1982 and moving to Toronto, Canada. Despite her acting efforts, she retained her passion for home design and eventually founded her company, Hilary Farr design firm.
Fast forward to 2005, and Hilary Farr teams up with David Visentin as co-hosts on Love it or list it. Together, they help homeowners face the difficult decision of whether to renovate or sell their home. Hilary is known for her bold and luxurious design choices, while David takes a more practical approach.
