Lekan Osifeso Jr. (born April 28, 1996) is a fast-rising Afro-fusion artist in the Nigerian music scene, whose debut single “Ariel” was released in 2019.

The singer, who is better known by his stage name Lojay, became a well-known name in the industry after he collaborated with veteran producer Sarz to release the hit single Tonongo.

early life

Lojay was born on April 28, 1996 to Mr. and Mrs. Lekan Osifeso into a Yoruba family.

He was named after his father, Lekan Osifeso Jr.

He is from a state in southwestern Nigeria and is the first child in the family.

He grew up in a religious home with devout Christian parents, which meant he was a regular churchgoer and rarely missed church services.

In mid-2020, he released another single, “Ogogoro”, which was more of an Afro-fusion song, which made him stand out compared to other emerging musicians. “Ogogoro” was more successful than Ariel, doing well in streaming, downloads, and music charts. This song laid the foundation for him to achieve greater success in the industry.

During the pandemic, Roger contacted ace producer Saltz and expressed his desire to work with him. Saltz agreed to Roger’s request and invited him to Saltz’s studio in Lagos. Roger’s initial plan was to create a song together, but they ended up holding a 3-month training camp, which eventually led to the successful EP “LV N ATTN”. This six-song song is Roger’s official project, which is an abbreviation of “Love And Attention”.

The first single from the EP, “Tongogo,” was released on April 30, 2021 and became an instant hit, furthering Lojay’s star status in the industry. The song topped the music charts within days and garnered thousands of streams from Afrobeats music fans around the world.

Two months after the release of “Tongogo”, Sarz and Lojay launched their collaborative project “LV N ATTN” on June 4, 2021. As expected, DSP promoted the project, helping to bring it to the ears of eager fans. The two songs from the project, “Monalisa” and “LV N ATTN”, quickly became favorites.

The music video for Monalisa was released on September 15, 2021 and became a hit at clubs and parties. The video was directed by UAX Visuals and Lojay’s styling was styled by Sanusucii.

Wizkid participated in the recording of the project’s eponymous single “LV N ATTN”. According to Lojay, Sarz invited him to a studio in West London, where Wizkid was waiting for him, and they recorded the song together.

Since rising to fame, Lojay has been invited to perform at several music events in Africa and Europe. In addition, he was recently nominated by AFRIMA as the most promising African artist. This nomination came less than five months after the release of his debut EP.
