early life
Hotis was born in Lagos on November 19 in the mid-90s. He is the youngest child in the family. He has six siblings. He is from Kwale, Delta State.
Hortis is not even 20 years old.
In 2016, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Abuja.
While growing up, he was influenced by musicians such as Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Sade Adu, Nas, Fela Kuti and others.
He was introduced to rap music from the age of six through his older brothers.
Profession
In middle school, he became known for his covers of songs by his favorite artists, including Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Nas. Soon, he was writing his own songs.
In 2015, he won the Abuja underground rap battle league “16 Bars”.
He released a rap single titled “10 O’clock” on VGC, which made him popular among rap fans. The song was produced by Emmeno.
He got the inspiration for the single during his trip from Abuja to Lagos.
After completing his studies, he returned to Lagos to pursue his career with full force.
In order to become a better rapper and promote himself, he began doing freestyle rap shows on Instagram Live every Friday night. He called it “Friday Night Massacre” and continued doing it from 2017 to 2018.
He eventually released his debut studio album in 2019. He titled it RedHOTYCECold Vol 1. The album is a 10-track project that features collaborations from artists such as Jesse Jagz, MI Abaga, Waje, and more.
He is currently working on the sequel: Volume 2.
In June 2019, he sparked controversy when he mocked some Nigerian rappers on social media, saying they should not be considered rappers because their rap songs could not even reach a “decent 16”.
He also released the singles “Dirty” and “Red light” featuring Jesse Jagz.
He has signed with record label K20 Entertainment.
