Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a video game developed by Game Freak for the Nintendo Switch. They were released on November 18, 2022, and are the first games in the ninth generation of the Pokemon series. Set in the Pardia region, these games are inspired by the Iberian Peninsula and introduce the concept of an open world, with urban areas seamlessly connected to the wilderness. The storyline unfolds through three separate paths, giving players greater flexibility in exploration.
Notably, the game introduces 110 new Pokemon, two regional forms, and time-shifting creatures known as Paradox Pokemon. A unique feature is the Terastal phenomenon, which allows Pokemon to transform into special “Tera Types”. Despite mixed reviews, they became Nintendo’s biggest new releases, selling over 10 million copies in three days and reaching 23.23 million copies by September 2023.

Indigo Disk in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trapagos in the DLC
Trapagos, the legendary Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Crimson and Violet’s Indigo Disc DLC, is a creature shrouded in mystery and anticipation. Trapagos debuts with the new stellar Terra type, available to players after completing the Indigo Disc storyline.
Originally debuting in the 2023 Scarlet and Violet books and the Pokémon anime, Trapagos adds an exciting layer to the gameplay, requiring players to engage in challenging battles and overcome its stages of change to ensure capture.
With its unique characteristics and the threat it poses in battle, Trapagos becomes a great addition to the Pokémon Crimson and Violet gaming experience, providing players with an exciting battle and the opportunity to enhance their Pokémon rosters .
Indigo Disk DLC in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Indigo Disk DLC breathes new life into the gaming experience, refreshingly breaking away from the limitations of the base game. The DLC introduces new characters like Kieran and Carmine and takes players back to Blueberry Academy, a Pokémon trainer’s dream facility built around a terrarium with four different biomes.
This environment becomes the center of engaging activities, including catching and researching Pokémon, perfecting battle strategies, and exploring a compelling storyline to wrap up dangling plot threads. While Indigo Disk introduces innovative features and fun elements, such as the captivating Trapagos storyline, it’s not without its challenges. Navigating the aquarium remains problematic, and the implementation of blueberry missions (similar to daily missions) adds some tedious aspects to the gameplay.
However, the DLC makes up for these shortcomings with a strong emotional core, a great ending, and extra content that makes delving into Blueberry Academy’s extracurricular activities worth a try for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Gameplay
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s gameplay follows the classic Pokemon structure, with players capturing and trading Pokemon to explore the world and battle other trainers. Newly added is the ability to choose to fight a trainer on a specific path. These games stand out for their open-world designs, blending urban areas and untamed wilderness without borders.
Unlike previous Pokemon games, players are free to choose from three routes and complete objectives in any order. The game introduces 112 new Pokemon, including 3 starter Pokemon and 2 legendary Pokemon: Koraidon and Miraidon. Notable features include the “Let’s Go” mechanic, which allows Pokémon to roam around the world and automatically engage in battles, as well as cooperative play with up to three other players.
The Terastal phenomenon adds a unique twist, giving Pokémon a crystal-like appearance and changing their type to match their “Tera type.” Overall, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet offer a combination of classic Pokemon gameplay with innovative features and a vast, interconnected world to explore.
