Gwen Stefani may have moved on with new husband Blake Shelton, but she’s still trying to deal with her divorce from Bush boss Gavin Rossdale.
In a new interview, Stefani shared that she doesn’t like using the term “divorce” when talking about her previous marriage and how its dissolution played out in the ending of No Doubt .
“You know, the time we stopped [in 2015] was when I was going through a terrible family breakup – I don’t like saying the word ‘divorce’, because it’s such a disgusting word. But my life blew up, it really did,” she said NME.
Stefani then shared that it took them a long time to get back together as a band because time passed so quickly and she was still trying to process what happened with her. my family. No Doubt reunited to play Coachella in April.
“A lot of people wonder, ‘Why did it take so long?’ [for No Doubt to reform]?’ But when I had a family, eight years passed like that. To heal from what happened, I mean it’s still happening, I’m still trying to get over it,” she told the publication.
Earlier this year Rossdale appeared on Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ Amy & TJpodcast where he talked about his divorce from Stefani.
“I feel bad for my kids, that’s all,” he said.
“That would be the most profound thing, like, I wish I could find a way to not have that in their lives,” Rossdale added.
He and Stefani married in 2002 and separated in 2015. They have three children together, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, 18 years old, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, 16 years old, and Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, 10 years old.
Stefani met Shelton on the TV show Voice in 2014 when they both held coaching positions. The following year, they started dating after he broke up with Miranda Lambert. Then in 2020, they got engaged and married in July 2021. They don’t have children together yet but collaborated on the songs “Nobody But You” and “Purple Irises”.
