The One Thing Mariah Carey Can’t Do For Dying Sister Despite Heartbreaking Plea Revealed

Mariah Carey’s late sister Alison’s desperate pleas for the singer went unanswered in her final days, exposing a painful rift between the estranged sisters.

Carey lost both her sister Alison and mother Patricia on the same weekend.

After Alison’s death, her close friend and caregiver claimed that Carey made no attempt to communicate with her sister despite knowing her health was failing.

David Baker told The US Sun that Alison had hoped to hear from Carey, but the “Through the Rain” hitmaker reportedly made no contact — not even to ask about her health when she was admitted to hospice care earlier this month.

“A phone call or better yet, a video call would have meant a lot to Alison. But it never came,” Baker said.

“She talked about it all the time. She wondered if Mariah or any of her relatives would come to her funeral,” he added of his late friend.

According to Baker, Carey’s sister expressed her displeasure at the pop singer’s decision to cut ties and keep her distance.

“That cruel rejection made Alison’s pain all the more painful,” he revealed.

He also shared that a memorial service is being “planned for at some future date,” but no firm arrangements have been made at this time.

On Monday, Carey shared the news of her sister and mother’s deaths in a statement to People magazine, saying, “I lost my mother over the weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister passed away on the same day.”

“I feel blessed to have been able to spend the last week with my mother before she passed away. I appreciate everyone’s love, support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time,” she added.

According to Radar Online, Alison is said to have had a difficult life, struggling with drug addiction and health issues such as HIV.

Despite the sisters having a strained relationship and a tumultuous past, Carey is said to have stepped in to help Alison and her children through difficult times.

But the singer is said to have cut off contact with Alison after they disagreed on a number of issues.

An anonymous insider told the news agency: “[Carey] also helped pay for Alison’s drug rehab as well as her treatment costs when she was diagnosed with HIV in the 1990s.”

“But a bitter row over childcare and responsibilities, her prostitute lifestyle and Alison’s efforts to write a book revealing the whole truth about Mariah and the Carey family led to years of estrangement,” the source claimed.

The Grammy-winning singer has previously opened up about her tumultuous relationship with her family, especially her sister.

As a teenager, Carey was reportedly exposed to drugs, aggression, and emotional distress by her siblings, as described in her memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey”.

According to the Daily Mail, the mother of two wrote in the book, “When I was 12, my sister spiked me with Valium, gave me a handful of cocaine, gave me third-degree burns and tried to sell me to a pimp. Something inside me was repressed by all that trauma. That’s why I often say, ‘I’ll always be a 12-year-old.’ I still struggle with that time.”
