Keep breathing ending explained
Liv’s near-fatal plane ride is fueled by her longing to find her estranged mother Lucia in Inuvik, Canada. Liv has just discovered that she is pregnant with her colleague Danny’s child, and she wants to find the mother who abandoned her when she was a child. After the death of her father Tomas, Liv discovers a series of postcards from Lucia with her latest location that Tomas has been hiding from her.
In the penultimate episode, an exhausted Liv hallucinates a reunion with her mother, where she gets answers and closure about what happened. In the play’s finale, she appears to have finally been rescued from the river by two men. Later, flashes of Liv’s life begin, including the birth of her child and a happy future with Danny. However, in Liv’s exhausted state, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s imagined.
