Meet Jack Barlow, RHOSLC Son of Lisa Barlow

RHOSLC fans already know that Lisa Barlow has two sons and one of them is named Jack Barlow. Since Lisa joined the RHOSLC cast in Season 1, her children have grown up in front of the cameras. Lisa talked about how difficult it was to watch her children, especially Jack, grow up in real time during Season 4 of the show.

Lisa’s eldest son, Jack, was born on October 20, 2004, becoming the first male to leave the nest. But Jack told cameras on Season 4 of RHOSLC that he wasn’t going to college and asked his mom for “college lectures.” In the next chapter, Jack makes one of his first adult decisions after deciding not to go to college. Lisa found it difficult to accept his decision to commit to the mission for many months.

Lisa and John worked at the Sundance Film Festival on the RHOSLC Season 4 premiere. While running errands, Lisa confided to her husband that she wanted to cherish every remaining moment with Jack before he graduated from high school, consider the days leading up to the big day “stressful.”

According to Bravo, Lisa told her husband about the argument: “He sat down next to me and started screaming. “And I said, ‘What’s going on, Jack?!’ He said, ‘Mom, everything is going to be okay because I decided to go on a mission.’”

In September 2023, Lisa posted to her IG where she said goodbye to her son as he prepared to embark on a multi-year Mormon mission. Just before he boarded the plane, Lisa took a photo of the teenager cuddling his younger brother, Henry, and saying goodbye to them.

“You are about to do some truly amazing things,” she wrote. “My heart is broken with happiness, love and a crazy feeling that I won’t be able to breathe until you come home. I miss you every second of every day and I know God will shower you with love and protection. Becoming your mother has made me a better person. My love for you is more than my heart can bear. God made you well.”

“Accidentally got red eyes when going home to say ‘see you in 2 years’ [Jack Barlow]”, she wrote in her Instagram Story. “Came to SLC after working in LA for a while. Live on adrenaline.”

Lisa, John, and Jack go shopping in Season 4, Episode 12, to buy clothes for Jack’s mission. Before leaving, Jack had to get “a suit, 8 to 10 white shirts, 6 to 8 ties, [and] three to five [pairs of] slacks,” according to an email he was reading.

While trying on clothes, he said to Lisa: “I think you need separation more than I do. You very much. I love you so much,” he added. “But I need space… It’s my turn to leave the nest. That doesn’t make it any less difficult for us,” Lisa replied, before noting that it would be difficult without Jack around during the holiday.

It appears that Jack may still be residing in Orange County and may not have moved to Columbia for his mission. A Reddit member reported on November 13 that they had seen Jack Barlow in Tustin, California, TJ Maxx.

“I just met Jack Barlow at TJ Maxx/Home Goods in Tustin, CA. He was wearing his LDS badge and was with another missionary,” the Reddit user wrote. “The missionary was shopping; Jack is talking on the phone. It seems Jack is not interested in discount shopping. I guess Lisa didn’t let him go to Colombia on a mission. Instead, he went to Irvine/Tustin (literally one of the safest cities in the entire US).”

But then Lisa clarified: “Hello!! Jack had to wait for his Visa, so [he’s temporarily] in CA [to practice speaking Spanish]. Still Colombia. Very active imagination.”

In addition to Jack, Lisa and John Barlow also have a son named Henry.

Jack graduated from Corner Canyon High School. In tribute, after his graduation, Lisa posted: “@_jackbarlow__ This milestone is complete. I’m so happy to be your mother. You are everything beautiful in this world. You are the best brother. The most thoughtful son and my sunshine. I have been in awe of you since the day you were mine. You are very confident in who you are and this journey you are on will certainly impact the lives of others. I love you more than that. You will always have my complete heart. #cchs.”

When Jack went to his last prom, Lia posted on her IG.

“My last prom [Jack]. I love/hate this!!!!! Yesterday I laughed and cried…. All at once. I’m so happy to be your mother. Glad you made great choices. So glad you have great style and so glad we get to experience this with you,” Lisa wrote on April 30. “I couldn’t love you more [Jack]. Your next steps are huge. Graduation will take me out.”
