Susana Alimivna Jamaladinova, commonly known by her stage name Jamala, is a Ukrainian singer and songwriter who has been interested in music since childhood The music is full of passion. At the age of nine, she made her first professional recording, singing 12 Crimean Tatar folk songs and children’s songs.

Susanna Alimivna Jamaladinova, also known as Jamala, was born on August 27, 1983 in Osh, Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union. She is the daughter of Alim Jamaladinov and Halina Tumasova. She comes from a musical family, her mother is a music school teacher and her father is a well-trained conductor. While Jamala may have grown up with siblings, their names are not known to the public.
She began her musical education at the First Music School of Alushta, specializing in piano. She later graduated from the Simferopol Conservatory and completed a degree in opera singing at the Ukrainian Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Kiev. Jamala is a mixed descendant of Crimean Tatars and Armenians and believes in Islam.

Jamala’s husband, Becker Suleymanov, is an economist and mathematician. They married on April 26, 2017 in a traditional Islamic ceremony at the Islamic Cultural Center in Kiev.
Their relationship became public in September 2016. The couple has two children: son Emir-Rahman (born on March 27, 2018) and daughter Seyit. Jamala announced in 2024 that they were expecting their third child.
