Early life and education
Jamie Foxx was born on December 13, 1967 in Terrell, Texas, United States, to Louise Annette Talley and Darrell Bishop. His parents divorced when he was young and he was raised by his grandparents in a racially segregated neighborhood.
He was musically gifted from a young age and started playing the piano at the age of 5. He is also good at telling jokes and making people laugh. He has two older sisters named Deidra Dixon and Deondra Dixon.
Jamie Foxx attended ‘Terrell High School’ and excelled academically. He was also talented in sports such as football and basketball. He also sang in a band called ‘Leather and lace‘
Jamie Foxx was awarded a scholarship to study music at the United States International University.
Career
In 1989, he began performing stand-up comedy. During this time, he adopted the stage name ‘Jamie Foxx.’
