As the release date for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s new movie “Unstoppable” begins, all eyes will be on them amid their ongoing divorce.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday after two years of marriage, but the former couple are expected to reunite next month to promote their joint project.
“Unstoppable” is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6 as part of the Special Screenings program before going to theaters for a limited release on Amazon MGM Studios in December.
A new report from the Daily Mail reveals that some of the film’s producers are “pushing” for Lopez and Affleck to “appear together” at the Toronto premiere to build excitement for the film.
Affleck and friend Matt Damon are among 14 producers attached to the project, under their production company, Artists Equity.
Lopez also co-produced “Unstoppable” alongside her producing partner, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.
Additionally, the “Jenny From the Block” singer will star in the film — which wrapped filming in January — as the mother of a wrestler.
However, a report from The US Sun claims that various plans are being put in place to avoid any awkward encounters between the pair at the film premiere.
“Everyone knew their presence there would overshadow the event, but it was clear that none of them wanted to run into each other,” an unnamed insider told the news agency.
Lopez and Affleck previously braved the elements to rekindle their romance in 2021 but decided to split again earlier this year.
After not being seen together for several months, they officially announced their split this week for the second time in two decades, ending their two-year marriage.

“Jennifer and Ben have split, they’re not getting along anymore — even after 20 years, they haven’t changed,” an insider told The US Sun.
“He had trouble with alcohol, but she didn’t really drink or smoke. She lived very clean. They were both very strict people,” the unnamed source added.
However, in a bold move, Lopez chose to celebrate her wedding anniversary on Tuesday by filing for divorce, sending a strong message.
An anonymous source told Page Six that the “Hustlers” actress intentionally decided to file for divorce on her second wedding anniversary with the “Gone Girl” actor to show that she “is a woman on her own terms.”
Additionally, Lopez reportedly filed for divorce “pro se,” indicating her decision to represent herself and file without an attorney — a move that emphasizes her taking back control.
