On Friday, the 44-year-old singer-actress was spotted spending some quality time with friends in the City of Angels.

Simpson and her friends reportedly had dinner at Mother Wolf in the middle of the night, and as soon as they stepped out of the Italian restaurant, they were photographed by paparazzi.
In a video and photos published online by the Daily Mail, the “Dukes of Hazzard” star is seen wearing a dusty rose dress covered in black flowers. The dress only reaches her knees, so her tan strappy sandals are visible to the camera.
Simpson was all decked out for the outing as she wore heavy makeup and even wore plenty of jewelry, including a turquoise necklace, silver bracelets and a variety of rings.
The “I Belong to Me” hitmaker carried a large silver handbag, but it was unclear what specifically she was carrying as she stepped out.

As seen in the clip shared by the outlet, Simpson quickly acknowledges the cameras as she exits the restaurant. She pauses for a moment and smiles before getting into her car that is waiting for her outside.

After the outing, Simpson took to Instagram to show off her OOTD to her fans, with one person saying her dress was perfect for “summer beach walks.” Others left emojis to express their approval of the style.

Simpson’s public outing comes days after she was forced to speak out about her sobriety after someone commented “STOP DRINKING!” under a sweet Instagram post she made for her son, Ace Knute, on his 11th birthday.
“I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017, and it was the best decision I ever made for myself and my family,” she wrote in response. “Thank you for your concern, but you misunderstood me so much. Sending love to you.”

The commenter quickly apologized to the singer after reading what she wrote.
According to People, Simpson has been sober for nearly seven years. She even celebrated her progress in 2021 by sharing a photo of herself on her first day of sobriety on Instagram.
“This person in the early morning of November 1, 2017 was an unrecognizable version of myself. I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore. I knew that in this moment, I would allow myself to take back the light, manifest victory in the internal battle of self-esteem, and bravely face this world with profound clarity,” she wrote in the caption of her post at the time.
“Personally, in order to do this, I needed to stop drinking because it made my mind and heart go in the same direction and honestly, I was exhausted,” she added.
In addition to Ace, Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, have Maxwell Drew, 12, and Birdie Mae, 5.
