Early life
Jim Rohn was born in the old city of Yakima, Washington, on September 17, 1930.
He is the only child of Mr. Emmanuel Rohn and Mrs. Claire Rohn.
His family owned one of the largest farms in Yakima in the 90s, not far from Jim Rohn’s residence.
The farm served as Jim Rohn’s primary source of livelihood, so he shared the responsibility of tendering the farm among family members and relatives who benefited from the farm produce.
Jim Rohn’s father lived an exemplary life characterized by hard work and productivity. Jim’s success can be credited to the legacy his father left behind.

Jim Rohn started elementary school at a local school to hone his knowledge of good conventions. He was accepted into high school after completing elementary school, remained in his hometown but dropped out of school for several years.
According to him, the reason he dropped out of school was because he did not receive the knowledge he expected.
However, he entered college a few years later but dropped out in his freshman year to pursue “a better course.”
Career
Jim Rohn began his professional career as a human resources manager for a department store called Sears. Just a year after he left university.
A friend invited him to attend a lecture organized and taught by famous businessman John Earl Shoaff during this time. In 1955, Jim Rohn joined John Shoaff’s AbundaVita direct sales venture as a distributor.
Two years later, Jim Rohn resigned as AbundaVita distributor and immediately joined Nutri-bio, another direct sales business.
Observing his growing success, John Shoaff, along with the company’s founders, took it upon themselves to mentor young Jim Rohn.
After months of consulting, he demonstrated the results of his consulting work by building one of the company’s largest organizations in 1960. Nutri-bio Company expanded its operations to Canada, where John Shoaff and other shareholders selected Jim Rohn as vice president of the organization.
A few years later, Nutri-bio ceased operations due to organizational reasons. However, the company’s loss was a gain for Jim when he was invited to be a guest speaker for a rotary club, where he performed brilliantly.
It propelled him to countless invitations to public speaking, luncheons, and special events. He presented his first public seminar in 1963 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
He began holding seminars across the United States, speaking about his personal experiences and teaching about his philosophy of development.
With each seminar, his confidence grew and made him one of the country’s most popular and popular speakers.
Jim Rohn was the recipient of the prestigious 1985 National Speakers Association CPAE Award for speaking excellence. He is also responsible for writing 17 books, audio and video media. Some of them are The Power of Ambition, Take Charge of Your Life, The Day That Changed Your Life and a host of other bestsellers.
Many of his inspirational and effective speeches are available on the internet for free download and can also be streamed on social media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram.
Personal life
Jim Rohn’s height is approximately 5 feet 5 inches and weighs 60kg. He was married to Judy Rohn Yvonne from 1972 to 1984. The marriage produced two beautiful daughters.
Jim Rohn is dead. He died of pulmonary fibrosis on December 5, 2009, in West Hills, California, United States. He is buried deep in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
