Meet Ashley Sparks, Diesel Brothers star Dave “Heavy D” Sparks’ wife

Ashley Sparks met Dave “Heavy D” Sparks at a church in 2008. And it was love at first sight, and the couple got married just over a year later on August 12, 2010.

Recalling the moment he first met Ashley, the Diesel Brothers star said she was his prayer to God. “I was sitting in church minding my own business when this new group of girls I’d never seen before walked in. Ashley was one of them,” he said.

But as cheesy as it sounds, Heavy D confessed that he knew Ashley was his girlfriend before he even said a word to her. He then sat behind her and her friends in Sunday school and handed them a note that said, “Girls, do you want to go boating sometime? A- Yes, B- No, C- I’m a creep.”

The girls then replied D- Yeah, but he’s still a creep.

A few days later, Heavy D took Ashley and her friends on a boat trip with some of his friends. But since the star didn’t have “two nickels to rub together,” he took them with his friend’s company, Rockwell Watches.

At the time, Heavy D was working for himself—operating heavy equipment and living hand to mouth just trying to get through the recession.

But Ashley didn’t care that he didn’t have money or even a “real job.” She never asked how he planned to make a living. “She always believed in me and believed that I would do great things,” he explains.

It was no surprise that they got married just over a year after they first met and two months after getting engaged.

Now, from Ashley’s perspective, she’s skeptical about saying yes. “If you know me, you know I struggle with decisions sometimes,” she says in her defense. But looking back, after 12 years of marriage, she says, “Saying yes was easily the best decision I ever made.”

Also, on their 11th wedding anniversary, she confessed that she still gets excited when she sees his name light up on her phone, she still finds herself constantly checking up on him, still prioritizes date nights, still gets butterflies when she hears his truck, still supports his every dream, and the list goes on.

But with that said, Ashley admits that no marriage is perfect. She knows that sometimes her husband finds her “horribly annoying.” And when that happens, they both focus on the good things rather than the bad.

Ashley Sparks and Dave “Heavy D” Sparks Children

Ashley Sparks has three children with Dave “Heavy D” Sparks named Charly, Beau and Mack Sparks.

Their daughter, Charley Mae Sparks, was born on October 19, 2011. She is bubbly and sweet, cool and confident, all rolled into one. Ashley describes her as talkative, sarcastic, an old soul, a beautiful dancer, boy crazy, and the best big sister.

Finally, their youngest child, Mack, was born on May 10, 2017. He is a bit of an introvert, doesn’t talk to people because they will comment on the way he talks and it makes him embarrassed. He also likes to twerk, imitate his mother meditating, and strangely, holds his finger in the air and farts on demand and says “sorry, I’m just a farting boy”.

In 2022, Charley is in 5th grade, Beau is in 2nd grade, and Mack is still in kindergarten.
