Joe Budden feels like fans are overreacting to his recent accusations of disorderly conduct and has responded with three simple words.
The rapper turned podcast host was reportedly arrested and charged with lewdness for an incident that occurred on December 4, 2024, after he was spotted on a neighbor’s camera in birthday suit.
Budden – full name Joseph Anthony Budden II – who always claimed to be a sleepwalker, seemed to have no compulsions on the matter. Honestly, he thinks fans might be exaggerating the problem.
“Everyone was so dramatic, laughing loudly,” Budden, 44, boldly wrote on X.
“Swear this could only happen to you, lol,” one fan responded in the comments section. “Hoe Budden, roadie,” teased the second. “Thank God you’re okay. You should consider sleepwalking hypnosis. Think, pray and pray,” a concerned fan added. “If you’re around children, you’re a certified pedophile. This is no laughing matter,” said a fourth.
He also appeared to mention the above incident Joe Budden’s podcast.
“I just sleepwalked to a place where I shouldn’t have been sleepwalking,” he said. “And you know how I sleep: butt-a*s [naked]! Good, sleepwalking naked. I just did it again.”
The resident who called 911 for the “Pump It Up” rapper said they were alerted by a communal camera when Budden was spotted standing naked outside their apartment.
The caller added that the podcast star attempted to enter the code into their digital keypad multiple times before returning to his own apartment, which is said to be located in the same building, according to ‘TMZ’. The complaint also states that the resident’s two teenage daughters were present during the disturbance.
Budden’s attorney, Nima Ameri, told ‘TMZ that he was “saddened” by the complaint about the incident becoming public, and accused Edgewater Police Chief Donald A. Martin of alleged racism.
“Mr. Budden is saddened by Sheriff Martin’s press release,” Ameri said. Mr. Budden has been waiting weeks for his cross-complaints to be processed, which include significantly more serious allegations, including including possible felony charges against those behind these allegations against him.” each Hip Hop DX.
“In our view, the Sheriff accepted those things but instead used his time to gain free publicity for himself. Sheriff Martin should seek publicity by undertaking notable policing activities so as not to trigger disorderly persons charges.”
Ameri continued: “The charges against Mr. Budden are just a minor charge, not even leading to an arrest. An accusation that Mr. Budden wishes was brought in court for good reason, not in the press . The Chief’s comments were reckless, and in our view, racially motivated.”
“Our research has not revealed a single press release about a disorderly persons charge on the police website this year. In our view, his choice to single out Mr Budden is personal motives and based on Mr. Budden’s race and celebrity status,” she concluded.
Joe Budden is scheduled to appear in court on January 16.
