Joe Don Rooney, best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the country-pop trio “Rascal Flatts,” formed his first band, Uncle Thumbtack, with childhood friends in 1992. Rascal Flatts’ successful lineup included Gary LeVox as lead singer and Jay DeMarcus on bass guitar and backing vocals. Between 2000 and 2010, they released six studio albums on Disney Music Group’s former Lyric Street Records. All of their albums have been certified platinum or higher by the RIAA.
In addition, Joe and his band, Rascal Flatts, have released several albums since 2000. They have continued to release albums including Melt (2002), Feels Like Today (2004), Me and My Gang (2006), Still Feels Good (2007), and Unstoppable (2009).
