Joe Rogan was born on August 11, 1967 and was registered as Joseph James Rogan.

He was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Joseph Rogan. His father was a police officer with the Newark Police Department.

When he was five years old, his parents divorced. He then moved to San Francisco, California, with his family. The family stayed there for four years before relocating to Gainesville, Florida. They later moved to Massachusetts.
