Early life
Joe Rogan was born on August 11, 1967 and was registered as Joseph James Rogan.
He was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Joseph Rogan. His father was a police officer with the Newark Police Department.
When he was five years old, his parents divorced. He then moved to San Francisco, California, with his family. The family stayed there for four years before relocating to Gainesville, Florida. They later moved to Massachusetts.

As a teenager, Joe Rogan became interested in martial arts and played Little League baseball.
Education
Joe Rogan is a former student of Newton South High School. He graduated from the school in 1985.
He was admitted to the University of Massachusetts. But he dropped out after two years without earning a bachelor’s degree.
Career
Joe Rogan’s journey into the entertainment world began with his comedy career. He began his career in 1988. He performed his first stand-up comedy act on August 27, 1988. This act was performed at an open mic at a comedy club in Boston.
In 1994, he landed a gig on MTV’s Half-Hour Comedy Hour, where he made his national television debut. That same year, he made his acting debut on the Fox comedy Hardball. He then landed a recurring gig with The Comedy Store in Hollywood and performed there regularly.
The following year, in 1995, Joe Rogan was cast in the NBC sitcom NewsRadio. He starred in the series from 1995 to 1999. He played Joe Garelli, an electrician and repairman. While starring in the series, he also starred in a pilot called Overseas.
In 1997, he began working with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (a mixed martial arts promotion) as a backstage and post-fight interviewer. By 2002, Joe Rogan had become a color commentator for the UFC. Additionally, in 2001, he was hired by NBC as the host of the American version of Fear Factor. He served as host from 2001 to 2006.
Joe Rogan released his first comedy special, I’m Gonna Be Dead Somebody, in 2000. Due to the success of this show, he began hosting more comedy specials to further his career as a stand-up comedian.

In 2009, he launched his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Within six years, it had grown into one of the top podcasts in the world. Over the past decade, the podcast has racked up millions of plays. In 2020, Spotify acquired exclusive distribution rights to the podcast for $100 million.

In 2009, Joe Rogan married his partner, Jessica Ditzel. The couple has two daughters: Lola Rogan and Rose Rogan, also known as Kayja Rose. Their first child was born in 2008, while their second was born in 2010. He is also the stepfather to Jessica Ditzel’s daughter, Kayja Rose, from a previous relationship.
The family originally lived in Colorado before moving to Southern California. They live in Bell Canyon, California. They recently moved to a $14 million home in Austin, Texas.
Despite being raised Roman Catholic, Joe Rogan has rejected all forms of organized religion. He suffers from vitiligo on his hands and feet.
