John Robert Hekker (born February 8, 1990), also known as Johnny Hekker, is an American football player who plays for the Los Angeles Rams (NFL) of the National Football League.

He attended Oregon State University and was acquired by the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2012.

John Hekker was named First Team All-Conference four times and was a four-time Pro Bowler. With his 65-yard punt in Super Bowl LIII, he holds the NFL record for the longest punt in Super Bowl history.

Career

While at Oregon State University, Johnny Hekker was a member of the Beavers football team. He won the 2008 Sun Bowl Special Teams Player of the Year award after gaining a total of 45 yards on ten kickoffs, including 57 and 52 yards in the fourth quarter of the Beavers’ 3–0 victory over the Pitt Panthers.

He was a four-year starter and one of Oregon State’s best players toward the end of his college career. In 2011, against the Utah Utes, he set a school record for a single-game passing average of 52.5 (six punts for 315 yards).
