Jonathan Marc Bairstow, commonly known as Jonny Bairstow, was born on 26 September 1989 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.
He was raised by his father, David Bairstow, a former Yorkshire and England goalkeeper. Jonny Bairstow also has a half-brother, Andrew Bairstow, who played for Derbyshire.

Bairstow’s professional career began with Yorkshire, where he played in second-class cricket in 2008. He made his first-class debut in 2009 and quickly established himself as a talented batsman.
Bairstow’s consistent form earned him a place in England’s Performance squad for the 2010/11 tour of Australia.
In 2011, Bairstow made his debut for England in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). He made an impressive start, scoring an unbeaten 41 off just 21 balls in the first ODI against India.
