Gregory Sheindlin, now 60, was born on September 19, 1964, in New York City, New York. He is the eldest son of Jerry Sheindlin and Suzanne Sheindlin, who divorced when he was young.

Gregory Sheindlin began his career as a prosecutor in Manhattan, handling a variety of crimes, including violent crime, white-collar crime, and organized crime.

He then became a trial attorney for Chubb Insurance Company, representing hundreds of companies in general liability, directors and officers liability, and medical malpractice cases.
