Brandon Fugal’s father is Daniel Fugal. He was born on May 30, 1948 to Boyd LeRoy Fugal and Venice Jacob Fugal in his hometown of Pleasant Grove, the eldest of nine children.

Becoming an Eagle Scout at age 14, Dan was actively involved in sports, church activities, studied piano, accordion and trombone, played in the high school band, and was passionate about playing and watching soccer and football basket. He is happiest when he is with his family and is loved unconditionally. A graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, he attended the University of Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in business.

Dan joined the Air Force Reserves and served an LDS mission to the Eastern states, serving primarily in the New York area. Dan has led a life of service and leadership in the fields of religion and business. He was the youngest elected member (28 years old) of the Alpine School District Board of Education, where he served for nearly a decade, and chaired and served on the Pleasant Grove City Council.

As CEO of Niels Fugal Sons Companies, he was a business leader, partnering with his brother Guy to build one of the largest construction companies in the Intermountain West and was named an EY Entrepreneur of 2001. He also holds securities broker and insurance licenses.

Daniel passed away on September 8, 2021 at his home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, surrounded by his loving wife, four sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. He was 73 years old. He battled carcinoid and other cancers for 17 years.
