Meet Daniel Fugal, Father of Brandon Fugal
Brandon Fugal’s father is Daniel Fugal. He was born on May 30, 1948, to Boyd LeRoy Fugal and Venice Jacob Fugal in his hometown of Pleasant Grove, the oldest of nine children.
An Eagle Scout at age 14, Dan was active in sports, church, studied piano, accordion & trombone, played in the high school band and was passionate about playing and watching football and basketball. He was happiest when spending time with his family and loved unconditionally. A graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, he attended the University of Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business.
Dan joined the Air Force Reserves and served in LDS missions in the Eastern states, primarily in the New York area. Dan has dedicated his life to service and leadership in the areas of religion and business. He was the youngest elected member (28) of the Alpine School District Board of Education, where he served for nearly a decade, and was president and served on the Pleasant Grove City Council.
As CEO of Niels Fugal Sons Companies, he is a business leader, partnering with his brother Guy to build one of the largest construction companies in the Intermountain West and was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001. He also holds a securities and insurance broker’s license.
Daniel passed away on September 8, 2021 at his home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, surrounded by his beloved wife, four sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. He was 73 years old. He had battled carcinoid and other cancers for 17 years.
