Early life
Kashmala Tariq was born in Lahore, Pakistan, on January 24, 1972. She obtained her LLB from Punjab University in 1996 after graduating from Kinnaird College in Lahore. She received her LLM from the London School of Economics in 1999, a year in which she also served as head of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf’s UK operations. She also asserted that she was President of the LSE Students’ Union from 1992 to 1998. Career
In the 2002 Pakistani general election, Tariq was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League on a seat allotted to women from Punjab.
