Kemi Badenoch, now 43, was born to middle-class Yoruba parents on January 2, 1980, in Wimbledon, London.
Her father, Femi Adegoke, worked as a general practitioner, while her mother, Feyi Adegoke, was a professor of physiology.
Badenoch spent part of her childhood living in Lagos, Nigeria, and the United States, where her mother taught. She has two siblings: an older brother named Fola and a younger sister named Lola.
