Coachella 2025 is quickly approaching, but fans can expect not to see Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar at the festival.
Paul Tollett – CEO of concert production company Goldenvoice and co-founder of the festival is said to have been hunting for festival headliners since April this year, but so far the number of his searches Still not much.
A new report from Bloomberg revealed that Tollett is looking for big names to headline Coachella 2025 but has so far failed to make the list of headliners. The report says that he wants Lamar and Rihanna to be big names that draw crowds and sell merchandise.
However, multiple sources spoke to the outlet and shared that Rihanna and Lamar turned down the invitation to perform at the festival. No official reason was given for why they turned down the opportunity.
Both Lamar and Rihanna are no strangers to appearing at festivals. Earlier this year, it was announced that Lamar would headline the 2025 Super Bowl, which will be held at the Caesar Superdome in New Orleans on February 9. Lamar previously appeared at Coachella in 2012 and 2017.
Rihanna is a recent Super Bowl performer, headlining the 2023 halftime show with a series of her hit songs like “Diamonds” and “Work.” Notably, Rihanna has not been on tour for many years and only in March did she perform her first full show in 8 years, when the singer performed at the wedding of billionaire Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchantin in India.
