Kendrick Lamar drops surprise new album, keeps Drake Feud alive and calls out rappers in Super Bowl drama

Kendrick Lamar suddenly released his new album, GNXon November 22.

The project was first teased with a video posted to Lamar’s social media account on the same day. The 12-track, 44-minute album made waves thanks to its subject matter.

This is Lamar’s first album since 2022 Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, and sixth overall. None of the 12 previously released tracks and one of its tracks “Wacced Out Murals” mentioned Drake and their ongoing feud.

“I will never make peace with it; that ain’t right for me / Before I call it quits, I’ll take them to hell with me,” he raps.

Drake and Lamar saw their feud escalate after Lamar released the song “Like That” earlier this year in response to Drake’s song “First Person Shoot” from last year, where it was said that J. Cole, Lamar and Drake are three big guys in the rap music industry.

Since releasing the songs, both Drake and Lamar have made major changes in the past year as Drake released the songs “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle”, while Lamar released “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA” before reaching its climax. on the release of his smash hit, “Not Like Us.”

Lamar also mentioned Drake’s song “Taylor Made Freestyle” from his new album and in the process attacked Snoop Dogg. Drake used an AI-generated version of Snoop’s voice in his song “Taylor Made Freestyle”.

“Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I prayed it was the right dish / I couldn’t believe it, it was right that I let it go,” Lamar said on “Wacced Out Murals.”

Elsewhere in the song, Lamar also addresses the backlash he received for landing the headliner spot for the 2025 Super Bowl.

“There was the Super Bowl and Nas was the only one congratulating me, all these people were hyped. I’m so happy ’cause it showed on their faces,” he raps in the song.

Several celebrities and Lil Wayne fans have publicly objected to Lamar’s headlining performance, claiming that the New Orleans rapper should have been selected to participate in the 2025 Super Bowl because it will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

“So the next two Super Bowls after this one in February (New Orleans) will be in LA,” DJ Akademiks wrote on Instagram. However, Wayne was eliminated and Kendrick made headlines in New Orleans, laughing loudly.

Meanwhile, Master P praised Lamar and admitted that his bid to headline Super Bowl 2025 was “well deserved.” However, he said he had to “agree with the fans that [Lil Wayne] should also be part of this celebration.”

“He is one of the greatest Hop Hop artists alive, still relevant and he is a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss out on this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give flowers to our legends while they are here,” he added.
