She is currently the Minister of Small Business Development and a member of the South African parliament.
She is a member of the South African political party, the African National Congress.
She is an alumnus of the University of Bradford, UK and Rand Afrikaans University.

Early life
Khumbudzo Ntshavheni was born on 30 January 1977.
She was born and raised in a humble family, her mother worked in the taxi industry and her father owned a shop.
Born in her hometown of Sibasa in South Africa’s Transvaal province, she was 14 when she convinced President Nelson Mandela to adopt 16 as South Africa’s voting age during the CODESA negotiations.

Khumbudzo Ntshavheni completed his primary education in Sibasa, South Africa.
She graduated from Mbilwi High School and obtained her MBA from the University of Bradford in the UK in 2008. She obtained her degree in Industrial Relations and Development Studies from Rand Afrikaans University.
Career
Khumbudzo Ntshavheni began her career as the Chief Urban Officer of the Ba-Phalaborwa Local Authority in the Limpopo region of South Africa from 2008 to 2010. She has also served as the Director of Tourism at the Limpopo Department of Trade and Investment, the Director of Information at the Limpopo Provincial Department of Local Government and Housing and Spokesperson to the Premier of Limpopo.
She had a brief teaching career. She was a lecturer at the University of South Africa before becoming CEO of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). She was appointed to the Denel Board by Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown to serve as a non-executive director of the organisation.
She is a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the African National Congress Youth League. Through her love and concern for the youth of South Africa, she is actively involved in many activities and programs aimed at improving the interests and lives of the youth of South Africa.
In April 2013, she was part of a 22-person team appointed to the National Working Group of the African National Congress. The team was tasked with reshaping the structures of the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) from branch, regional and provincial levels and the work has produced average to excellent results at all levels.
After her election to Parliament in May 2019, President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed her as Minister for Small Business Development. Following the unfortunate death of Jackson Mthembu; South Africa’s Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in January 2021, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni was appointed as interim successor by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
