Boebert was born on December 19, 1986, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, to 18-year-old Shawna Roberts Benz. The identity of her father is unknown.

Although it was initially suspected that professional wrestler Stan Lane was her father, two DNA tests proved otherwise.

After high school, Boebert worked as an assistant manager at a McDonald’s in Rifle, a job that shaped her views on the need for government assistance.

After marrying Jayson Boebert in 2007, she began working for a natural gas drilling company and eventually became a pipefitter doing pipeline construction and maintenance.

In 2013, Boebert and her husband opened Shooters Grill in River, Colorado, claiming she obtained a concealed-carry permit after a man was killed near her restaurant. However, later reports indicated the man died of a drug overdose elsewhere.

In September 2019, Boebert gained national attention when he challenged Beto O’Rourke at an Aurora town hall meeting over a gun buyback program and assault rifle ban.
