Early life and education
Tomi Odunsi was born on May 24, 1987 in Ogun State, Southwestern Nigeria. She is from the Yoruba tribe in Southwestern Nigeria.
Born and raised in western Nigeria, she loves stage plays and performing arts in general.
Tomi Odunsi started her schooling at a private school in Ogun State, Nigeria, where she completed her primary education and then her high school education at the same school.

Tomi Odensi started her acting career at the age of 17 and has now grown into a popular actress, TV host, singer and songwriter. After many auditions, she landed her first role in the TV series Tinsel; she played the role of Salewa in the award-winning series.
Her career took off from the TV series and she later starred in a Nigerian movie called Return of Caesar which also featured other actors like Omoni Oboli, Kalu Ikeagwu, Wole Ojo and Kehinde Bankole.
She is also known for starring in an interesting documentary, Run: A Documentary. Run: A Documentary focuses on six women from different backgrounds sharing their experiences with student/child prostitution. The documentary was directed by the renowned Benedict Ali and other stars include Stephanie Linus, Ireti Doyle and Onyeka Onwenu.
Tomi Odunsi is also a songwriter and has written several songs. Her first single was titled “I wan Blow” and was released in April 2013. She sang the song to an audience at the Oriental Hotel in August 2013. She then released an R&B single with CGT (City of Great Talents) Records (the record label she is signed to).
Additionally, she has collaborated on some songs with prominent artists like Omawumi, Beverly Naya and Bryan Okwara. The Ogun State-born singer has another single titled “Mama Say to Her” which includes an EP titled “Santa Cruise.” In 2013, the Nigerian star released a song titled “Papi” in which she sang about the plight of #ChildNotBride.

The fast-rising singer is also the CEO and founder of CGT Media Ltd. CGT Media is a fast-rising African entertainment and media company. In 2015, she hosted the Rhythm N’ Play event.
The event was also attended by former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan then crowned Tommy Odensi as an ambassador of music and career alongside other top artistes like Ice Prince and MI Abaga.
In 2017, singer and actor Tomi Odunsi was nominated as the Most Promising Actor at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
