Ladipo Esho (born April 29, 1992) is one of the most prominent rappers in the Nigerian music industry currently. Popularly known in the industry by his stage name Ladipoe, the Mavin Records signed artist has proven himself to be a commercially successful and award-winning artiste.
The music maestro has become a sensation in the industry after releasing the hit single “Feel Alright” in collaboration with music group Show Dem Camp.
Two years after joining Mavin Family, he released the hit single “Jaiye” in 2019, whose success was surpassed by “Know You” with Simi, which won The Headies Award for Best Collaboration in 2020.
His debut EP, Providence, was released in 2021 to critical acclaim, and a few months ago, he took the African music scene by storm with BNXN’s top party jam, “Feeling.” The song cemented Ladipo’s status as the King of Afro-rap in Nigeria.

early life
Ladipo was born into a prominent Esho family on April 29, 1992. Although the Esho family resides in the city of Lagos, they are from the ancient Yoruba city of Ilesa, which is located in Osun State.
Named Ladipo Eso, his parents, rappers, raised him as Christians. He spent his formative years in Nigeria’s commercial capital, where he completed his primary and secondary education before migrating overseas for higher education.
Despite his background in science, Radipo has always had a keen interest in music, dating back to his high school days. Influenced by American rappers such as Eminem, 2pac, The Notorious BIG, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, and others, Radipo developed a desire to become a rapper. He explored this passion during his teenage years, writing rap lyrics and performing them to the admiration of his family, friends, and classmates.
Although Ladipo was interested in rap music, he dreamed of pursuing a professional music career in Nigeria. He knew that to succeed he had to perfect his musical style and create songs that his audience, Nigerians, could relate to.

After completing college, Ladipo returned to his home country to pursue his long-time dream of becoming a rapper. In 2017, he reached his first milestone when he signed a record deal with Mavin Records and became a member of the Mavin Family. He was the first rapper to sign with Mo’Hit Records since the label changed its name in 2012.
The scientist turned rapper grabbed the opportunity to prove his talent when he featured in the single “Feel Alright” released by Show Dem Camp in 2017. The artist’s rapping prowess shook the hearts of many Nigerians and became the center of attention in the following months.
Ladipo released his first official mixtape, Talk About Poe, in 2019. The mixtape introduced his music to the country’s rap music lovers and helped him win the hearts of more Nigerians. In the same year, he released the hit single “Jaiye” which established him as one of the leading figures in the country’s African rap scene.
Ladipo’s career reached a peak in 2020 when he released his much-anticipated duet song “Know You” with Simi. The song became an instant hit, with millions of fans using it in TikTok videos and other video content, becoming an almost immediate hit. Weeks after its release, the song became a hit on Nigerian radio, receiving widespread play on major radio stations across the country. Radio play also contributed to over 80 million streams on digital music platforms.
In May 2021, he decided to impress his fans with another hit song and enlisted the help of BNXN (formerly known as Buju) to make it happen. Their collaboration resulted in the chart-topping single Feeling. Like Know You, the song gained traction on social media as many content creators used it as background music in their videos and hundreds of fans recorded covers of the song and posted them on the internet. Feeling topped the TurnTable 50 chart three times.
Six months later, Ladipoe released his much-anticipated debut EP, Providence. The six-track album featured Rema, Fireboy DML and Amaarae as guest artists. All the songs on the EP became chart-topping singles, including “Providence”, “Love Essential”, “Running”, “Law Of Attraction”, “Afro Jigga” and “LOTR II”.
Ladipo was invited by Big Brother Nigeria organisers MultiChoice to perform at the opening ceremony of the show’s sixth season. In 2022, he joined Fireboy DML on their Apollo Tour in the US, performing live at shows in Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In March 2022, he also visited Los Angeles, where he performed a sold-out show.
Awards and nominations
Ladipo won the Best Collaboration Award at the Headies Music Festival in 2020. He was nominated for his single “Know You”. The song was nominated for the Net Honour Music Award in the Best Hip-Hop Song category in 2021.
He was nominated for the 2021 BET Awards for Best International Process.

Personal life
Rapper Ladipoe turned 32 on April 29. He lives in an upscale neighborhood in Lagos and owns a fleet of luxury cars.
He is a member of the music group Collectiv3, which he co-founded with his friends. During college, he was a member of Lyrically Equipped, which he co-founded with his friends Kurt and Jeffery.
Ladipoe is one of the judges for Hennessy vs Class Of 2022 and he has been travelling across the country to interview talents who have auditioned for the show. As a judge on the competition, he uses the opportunity to mentor aspiring rappers and help them succeed in the industry.
When Ladipo posted a video in August 2021 announcing that he was now a father, fans were shocked.
